Tracy police spokesman Sgt. Tony Sheneman said that at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, police served three search warrants resulting in the arrest of three men.
Elvis Mendoza, 28, and Johnny Martinez, 24, both of Tracy, were arrested on suspicion of accessory to attempted homicide at the Tracy Police Department about 12 hours after the incident.
At about 11:30 a.m., the third suspect, Tracy resident Michael Mau, 24, was arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide as he was exiting a Manteca motel.
All three were taken to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp. Tracy police said all three are also being charged with being in a street gang and will be arraigned next week. Mau will face seven charges of attempted homicide.
Sgt. Alex Neicu said the three men were documented gang members, but there's no indication that any of the victims had gang ties.
The trio were arrested by SWAT forces and detectives from the Tracy Police Department and the youth services division in Manteca, according to Sheneman.
The arrests come nearly 12 hours after eight shots injured seven people — one critically — at Amore's Italian Restaurant on the corner of 11th and A streets.
Police said that people fighting inside the eatery were forced outside by security of the restaurant-turned-nightclub. Once in the parking lot, the fight turned into a crowd shooting.
The critically injured man, who was shot in the head, was still in critical condition at San Joaquin General Hospital as of 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

My point is that when I past the first sobriety test the officers should have moved on to someone actually doing something wrong at 1am."
Just thought I would judge a little more because I have a BIG PROBLEM with anyone who drinks and drives, grow up! If you drink, drink at home and stay home....But for someone with a MBA and BA you should know that you actually "passed" your first sobriety test, not "past"! Great education huh?
Nice poem, let's pick up the trash and move on.
csusgirl,
You only got lucky.
newtotracy,
Welcome to Tracy.
You comment that "Most cops don't get into criminal justice because they want to save the world, most of them are power trippers on a very long ego trip. I know because I have a MBA and a B.A. in Criminal Justice. I have seen my fair share of officers in training."...do you think this may give you a preconceived notion of how you are being treated? I'm not judging, just speculating on how I myself might act in that situation. If I felt, as you state, that most cops were power trippers...I might be less willing to be patient while the officers did their job.
If I were in your shoes, heck ya, I'd be ticked through and through. But you also had a beer and got in the car. 0.08 maybe the BAC that gets you a ticket, but 0.01 means you have alcohol impairing your judgement.
I bought the car 5 years ago brand new with no front plate and this was the first time I have been told it was a violation. I had a better chance of getting a ticket for "jaywalking" if you want to be serious about this.
I didn't have a smart mouth and I was incredibly cooperative with the police. As a matter of fact one of the officers thanked me for being so cooperative.
In regard to my age let me say that both officers were significantly younger than I am and I'm old enough to know when I cross the path of a rookie officer trying to get his rocks off. Most cops don't get into criminal justice because they want to save the world, most of them are power trippers on a very long ego trip. I know because I have a MBA and a B.A. in Criminal Justice. I have seen my fair share of officers in training.
Want to keep judging me because there is not much left for you to assassin in my character. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time and TPD should have had the common sense to recognize that, it's their job.
My point is that when I past the first sobriety test the officers should have moved on to someone actually doing something wrong at 1am. I RARELY go out and on this night it was a birthday party for a friend. So, yes people can be out late with friends without doing anything wrong. Unless you are have no friends or personality, you understand the innocence of what I did. It's called socializing.
My fix it ticket will cost me about $40. I'll have it signed off and be on my merry way. It'll be another waste of time for all of us because my lack of a front license is NOT a threat to our community. If the officers that night were effective and competent then they would have let me go in a timely manner and found a real DUI case ( approximately $9,000). For all of you rocket scientists out there that would have brought in a lot more revenue for the city.
You may not care about where our tax dollars go, but I do. If we have to be in this horrible economy then produce some real revenue from real criminals.
This is my humble opinion and more than likely not endorsed by anyone :) I don't expect anyone to care about my opinion, I'm just voicing it.
I understand what you are saying but not to whom it is directed to. Never the less we all have first amendment rights, as you do. I am one for getting down on someone but I tell the person directly. This is very much a political statement because council wants to take some of our police away from us. We need them. We also need the fire fighters.
Almost every sentence you have nothing nice th say yourself. I hope you understand what I am saying and take it as constructive criticism.
You also wrote this:
"If you can't offer an opinion without insult, then keep it to yourself"
Your post is the most offensive on here. But we can't be? No we are not the scum, we may noe all be perfect, but scum, very insulting, come one.
And again you say:
"you're teaching them to your children and they'll grow up with the same ignorance many of you display on whatever article is written here on the Tracy Press."
An apology would be nice.
No one goes to a bar until 1 am and has one beer unless your lying or the DD. (Then, if you are the DD you shouldnt have any.) EVERYONE knows that it is illegal not to have a front license plate.
It is a 50 50 chance you could have gotten a dui. They run ya around 9 thousand bucks these days. The city needs the money. I am betting the cops are stopping more people then they usually do. If you really think it was false pretenses then you should sue them. You walk out of a bar it is fairly reasonable for the cops to assume you went over your limit drinking alcohol. A majority does, do you agree? It is so easy to go over the limit. if you blew a 0.09 you go to jail.
I never said you did anything illegal. And I already explained why the cops can assume you may have been over the limit so that leaves your insult about a girl being raped. I will now assume why it took the cops 45 minutes to give you a sobriety test. You have a smart mouth. Were you cooperative with them? If you weren't doing anything wrong then be glad a cop stopped you. He may stop a really drunk person some day and save someones life. You weren't being picked on. The cops were not harassing you. They are doing their job with my tax dollars. When you got a license you had to know some of the laws but you can't possibly know them all, that is why you didn't have your front plate and I do.
I'm sure you are the type of person that blames a woman for being raped when she wears a short skirt. Who cares if I came out of a bar? It doesn't mean I was drinking all night. I was there for a friends birthday and I had 1 beer. That's no illegal. So, I'm not going to try and reason with you.
I'm just saying that when 2 cops are harassing an innocent person while relevant crimes are occurring, they should reconsider their priorities and my tax dollars.
Normally, parents would stand by their adult children no matter what the crime. I'm not saying they would condone it, just be there for the support of their son. This is normal, even if the parents are angry at them and they know they did something wrong.
So those of you that keep blaming the parents will see it differently if you have small children. They will do things that you will shake your head over. Not murder but just wait and see. And you nor I would never expect your own child would become a murderer.
The way things are heading now, Tracy will be just another high crime area that isn't safe for your children, family, personnel property etc..
I guess with Modesto and Stockton so close, it was only a matter of time before it spilled into our town.
Long time resident,
Vetdude
That is a must troubled teens. I hope Tracy is finally willing to admit we have a gang problem.
DVI (Duel Voc Institute)has a wonderful program for at risk boys between the ages of 12-16. Actual prisoners spend 2 days talking with the boys about their bad behaviors, whatever they may be. Parents also attend. 4 yrs ago I took my son when he was 16 and to this day he talks about his experience. It was an eye opener for all who attended. If you have tried other means to help your child and nothing has worked, please find out about this program, you will not be disappointed.
