EDITOR,

Iran is threatening the world with nukes, and any action by the U.S. will cause the price of oil to skyrocket. Experts say it will go to $400 per barrel.

We would not have to rely on the Middle East for oil if our politicians were not so stupid or corrupt. Washington will not let our own oil companies drill for our own oil. Does that make any sense?

Our oil companies are not allowed to drill here in the U.S., but President Obama is giving taxpayer money to drill off the coast of a foreign country. Is the environment only hurt when we drill for our own oil? Do we smell hypocrisy?

Washington, D.C., and Sacramento are out of control and do not have America’s best interest at heart. I say, we need to vote them all out and start with a new group of people.

Make them read and understand the Constitution that they pledge to support and defend from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I contend that our present politicians have not read it or understood it — or they are ignoring it.

You bet the hostile countries will use oil to their advantage.

America needs to re-invent herself to get the jobs opening up here. So what is new that hasn't been thought of in alternative energy.

Jobs is what got USA back on her feet after WWII. Now USA jobs were diluted due to outsourcing employment, and no new possibility of being employed took its place,... just a void.

People, thinking cap please, lets visualize something that the world would need only to be produced in USA.... darn, not so easy!!!

I think McNerney enjoys too much the sound of his voice through his white elephant trunk.

Sorry, McNerney, it was amazing to see you politicians not taking care of the Californians very well! Especially the Veterans!

Seems our Congressman McNerney is all in favor of lookin at alternative sources fer energy. Until ya mention openin up domestic and off shore oil reserves.

But that's ok, he says he's fer nuclear power.

Trouble is that will fly about as fer as a lead balloon here in this country taday.

So other than wind power from his mouth an his solar energy projects, don't expect him to be of any real help in solvin our energy crisis.

The letter doesn't go far enough.

The money we spend goes toward building foreign oil companies and subsidiaries.

The American oil companies operating overseas own next to nothing involving oil fields.

All that oil belongs to foreign countries and then we have to pay for the oil.

So, what are we doing there when we have oil at home?

Yes, I agree the author has a good question. Why we are helping a country like that now says they have nukes and can strike our country with their [nuclear] missiles?

What in the world are our leaders thinking?

"Washington, D.C., and Sacramento are out of control and do not have America’s best interest at heart. I say, we need to vote them all out and start with a new group of people.

Make them read and understand the Constitution that they pledge to support and defend from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I contend that our present politicians have not read it or understood it — or they are ignoring it."

Self-reliance maybe our saving grace. We ought to be prepared to be more self reliant in case the heavily depended on needs (energy or supplies) are cut off in an hostile act.

We need to be sure we have amble food in our silos, we need to be sure we have our supplies on hand, all made in USA.

Up to the screwed up politicians who wait on special interests words. Owned by balls and chains of money.

Take your blinders off politicians and those who love peace as much as I do, we are entering an hostile era...with the problems of Iran and other wars.

All the foreign holdings in USA is not making me feel all that comfortable, do Foreigners dictate to the politicians what they want with their interests in USA?

Just would feel more comforatble if we were far more self sufficient.
