Safe driving session canceled
Because of financial reasons, the Get Real Behind the Wheel’s On-Track Safe Driving event at Altamont Motorsports Park for Sunday has been canceled. Spokesman Ken Ucci said the event will be back on the track next month.

Meatloaf dinner
The Tracy Auxiliary of Children’s Home Society will host a meatloaf dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 17 at the Tracy Moose Lodge, 35 E. Sixth St.
Meatloaf will be served with mashed potatoes, vegetable salad and a dessert.

Showcase, a musical stage production for performers 55 and older, will host auditions Sept. 19 in room Holt 113 at San Joaquin Delta College, 5151 Pacific Ave., in Stockton. The company is looking for actors, singers, dancers and musicians for its 30th annual production.

Car show for needy children
Simple Pleasurez, a Tracy car and truck club, will host a toy drive and car show Dec. 12 for the McHenry House Family Shelter. The show will be at the Tracy Moose Lodge, 35 E. Sixth St.
In 2008, the club donated more than 450 toys, 100 books and a bunch of clothes to McHenry House.
