Today’s Remember When “mystery photo” shows a busy luncheon counter in downtown Tracy in 1983. Where was it located? And does anyone remember the name of person behind the counter?

Last week’s Remember When “mystery photo.” inset below, showed the winners and runners-up in the 1971 Husband-Wife Golf Tournament at Tracy Golf & Country Club. Left to right: Ted and Mary Baskette, champions, and Toni and Dan Bertolotti, second place. The two teams tied in regular play, and the Baskettes won the tournament on the second extra hole. Gussie Owen was the first to identify the golfing couples, and others followed.

• To solve this week’s mystery, e-mail publisher emeritus Sam Matthews at shm@tracy press.com.
