In President Obama’s recent prime-time press conference, the president found it necessary to comment on the arrest of his personal friend, Harvard professor Henry “Skip” Gates. Gates was arrested at his home by a Cambridge policeman. Gates is a black man.

Obama admitted he knew nothing about the details but then stated the police acted “stupidly.”

Locally, Samina Masood in her Wednesday Town Crier column talked about the apparent racial profiling of Gates by Cambridge police Sgt. James Crowley. Masood goes on to talk about a personal incident of being allegedly profiled while living in Florida.

Nationwide, many liberals are outraged and telling us we need open discussions on race. Many liberal college professors are also angered by this Cambridge incident and are not mincing their angered words.

Now let’s get the fact straight —Crowley did not profile Gates. It was Gates who verbally went off on Crowley, who happens to be white.

Gates brought race into the incident. It was Gates who was screaming about race at the top of his lungs as he followed the policeman out of the house onto his porch. Gates was also screaming about Crowley’s mother. What did his mother have to do with this?

It turns out that Gates is prone to being a “race-baiter.” It seems that Gates has a chip on his shoulder.

Without knowing the facts, Masood discovered this as a “teachable moment” to inform us about racial profiling and the “police state.” Masood appears to have a chip on her shoulder.

Other liberals nationwide are understandably outraged, because by definition liberals have lots and lots and lots of chips on their shoulders.

Meanwhile, Obama creates this nationwide upheaval on race by making stupid assumptions and statements without knowing the facts. Obama may also have a chip on his shoulder.

Obama makes worldwide tours apologizing for American people and our alleged faults, but he can’t bring himself to apologize to the Cambridge Police Department, and in particular to Sgt. Crowley, for his stupid statement.

It appears the real teachable moment we have here is telling Gates, President Obama and all the other liberals like Masood to keep their collective mouths shut before flying off the handle with stupid comments and dumb commentaries that provoke bad feelings throughout Tracy and America.

Knowing the facts before speaking or writing will also prevent unnecessary chips from being placed on their already laden shoulders.

the jury must have been liberal to find this god fearing christian murderer guilty, instead of giving him a medal .....suppose they must have a chip on their shoulder after the liberal verdict!

WAUSAU, Wis. – A central Wisconsin man accused of killing his 11-year-old daughter by praying instead of seeking medical care was found guilty Saturday of second-degree reckless homicide.

Dale Neumann, 47, was convicted in the March 23, 2008, death of his daughter, Madeline, from undiagnosed diabetes. Prosecutors contended he should have rushed the girl to a hospital because she couldn't walk, talk, eat or drink. Instead, Madeline died on the floor of the family's rural Weston home as people surrounded her and prayed. Someone called 911 when she stopped breathing.

I find it curious to find this level of ignorance and partisanship, even for Tracy it takes the cake. The author goes the extra mile in defending a white cop, and maligning a Pakistani author who shared the horrors of the Bush legacy in which innocent immigrants were given the third degree for being from a particular country. The fact that she was not deported but harassed speaks of the very racial profiling at debate here. Also the horrors of blogger Maria, who thinks all Pakistanis need to be sent home because they represent enemies of Christianity makes me wonder if we have far behind enough the legacy of when people like her burnt people like Masood at the stake simply because they failed to share in their bigotry. God really help us if in the year 2009 we are still so backward.

I agree with the author, Masood and other liberals like her have a chip on their shoulder as if we should admire their like whereas the fact that she was about to be deported because of being from Pakistan is a positive step taken unsuccessfully, unfortunately during Bush years, to weed out people from her country who mean our people every possible harm. Just look what happened in her country today in Pakistan. her people burnt poor Christians alive on the pretext of blashphemy against Islam. This is what we are having to put up with as a result of liberal policies by Obama government. We encourage our enemies to come to this country and kill our people. There is no end to this madness.

Liberals shouldn't be liberated from common sense!!! If they couldn't handle the consequences of their actions, then stay out of politics and quit fanning discontent in USA when it could be handled more wisely by level headed people who are willing to take responsibilities for any decision, actions themselves. They don't need your divisive help!!!

You either lead, follow or stay out of the way!

CN

Quit muddying up common sense.

Why does everything always come down to right wingers or liberals - or republicans or democrats? How about the simple notion of right and wrong. Common sense people.

If Gates started it, he is wrong..if Crowley started something, he is wrong. So who was inappropriate first? Whomever that was should take the blame.
