It’s time to get a taste of Tracy and break out your jazz hands.

From 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Tracy will have its first installment of the Taste of Tracy series. For $10, people can sample food and drinks from local restaurants at 333 Civic Center Plaza.

For the price, each customer gets seven food and three drink samples from local establishments. There are bottled water vouchers for people who don’t want to drink alcohol.

Some of the food and drinks will come from places such as Tracy Thai, La Bonne Vie Cellars, De Vinci’s and more.

Also, there will be a live jazz performance from Jeff Bordes, a noted and well-established musician residing in the Bay Area, who will play with the San Jose group Panthelion. Panthelion draws inspiration from a number of musical genres including jazz, classical, tribal, urban groove and others.

The event is part of an effort to bring business to downtown restaurants and retailers while giving residents a chance to mingle with one another.

Taste of Tracy will continue every other Friday night.
