EDITOR,

This is the time for this nation to step up to the plate for its citizens in regard to health care. When individuals with insurance cannot afford treatment for the big C and instead choose the option of getting their affairs in order, we need single-payer insurance by choice, as President Obama is presenting.

Unfortunately, the only representatives who are not behind this are the ones who are beholden to the health industry. Check out their history with health insurance lobbyists, both Republicans and Democrats.

Unfortunately our congressman, Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, is still “on the fence” about wanting health care for his constituents. That was just confirmed by a phone call to his office.

Please let him know it is time for this country to take care of its own.

This is obama’s doctors whole quote

"I look at his program and I CAN‘T SEE HOW IT‘S GOING TO WORK," Scheiner told the Huffington Post. "He has no cost control. There would be no EFFECTIVE COST CONTROL in his program“. QUOTE, QUOTE.

I did not refer to the whole article, but since you brought it up,

Obviously you did not read the article. The doctors saying obama’s plan as written will not work.

The doctor is for a socialist style heath care. According to the polls most Americans are not in favor of socialism.

Also according to the polls most people do not accept obama’s health care plan.

So why the rush, let’s get it right.

Since you have reverted to name calling I will leave you with another Quote.

The cowards way out is to start calling names and at which point you have lost the debate!

Have a good day this debate over.

The plan reeks of selection process. I agree with Obama's doctor and we do not support the plan at all!

If you haven't read the Doctor's comment in the website provided, you are doing yourself a disservice by speaking on something you clearly do not understand.

I agree with the doctor, Obama's plans are terrifying!

Anonymous, your thought process or lack of, simply amazes me.

I showed you a quote from obama’s former doctor and then asked some questions.

So, some way using your thought process I work for an insurance company giving dirty money to the democrats and care more about my job than our country.

“Amazing simply Amazing“.

Question, since you can process so much with very little information, could you please tell me a good stock to buy.

too bad you don't give the WHOLE QUOTE LMAO SAME OLE CRAP TWIST THE TRUTH For anyone that wishes to see how HD8 likes twisting the truth just read the article

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/07/30/obamas-doctor-opposes-health-care-plan-calls-single-payer/ here are some quotes ver batim from Dr

Obama's former doctor, David Scheiner, is among the growing number of opponents to the president's health care plan, he says because it doesn't go far enough in having government run the system.

Scheiner, who treated Obama for more than two decades in Chicago, is calling for a government-run program like Medicare, arguing that it would reduce costs by cutting out administrative costs.

"We know under single-payer, eventually people will pay less," Scheiner said Thursday during a news conference at the National Press Club.

so typical of the Rove Atwater koolaid with the artificial sweetener that causes brain damage..obviously you did not read the whole quote

HD8 Lmao..keep those talking points from the ins company coming..while you fill your and the blue dog dems pants with the dirty money that keeps health care from our citizens. Too bad you care more about your job with the health ins than you do this country. We CANNOT afford to NOT reform this nations health care. We spend more per capita than any other industrialized nation with the worst results..and you are happy with that kind of investment?

Cliffmal, Here again is the quote from obama’s own physician for 20 years.

Dr. David Scheiner, a 70-year old Chicago-based physician who treated Obama for more than 20 years, said he was disheartened by the health care legislation his former patient is championing, calling it PIECEMEAL and INEFFECTUAL.

Cliffmal, you can spin the doctors quote anyway you want but, the doctor still said obama’s plain is piecemeal, no cost control and ineffectual.

So why the RUSH? Why the August dead line? I have a great idea, why not read the bill

before voting on it? Why not let the American people see the bill? Why not find a way to pay for the $2,000,000,000,000 bill?

O wait, I know because the more the American people understand about the bill the less they like it. Please forget my questions I answered them myself.

Just wondering, does Medicare for all also mean for illegal aliens also?

Scheiner says “Have him get paid $1 million a year instead of $2 million or $3 million. He won't starve,” Spoken like a true Communist.

HD8,

I agree todays news is more opinion than fact. One must go to multiple sources Fox, CNN, internet to form a more balanced opinion for themselves. Go to this link:

http://www.fair.org/blog/tag/david-scheiner/

And you will see what was left out of Doctor Scheiner's comments on health care reform.

"What should the president be focused on? Scheiner thinks that a good health reform would be "Medicare for all," a single-payer system where the government would cover everyone and pay for it by cutting out waste in the system. "A neurosurgeon gets paid $20,000 for cutting into the neck of my patient. Have him get paid $1 million a year instead of $2 million or $3 million. He won't starve," Scheiner says."

Mkoertje, unlike you I get my information from many sources.

Here’s a quote from one of your favorite sources the huffington post.

Dr. David Scheiner, a 70-year old Chicago-based physician who treated Obama for more than 20 years, said he was disheartened by the health care legislation his former patient is championing, calling it PIECEMEAL and INEFFECTUAL.

"I look at his program and I can't see how it's going to work," Scheiner told the Huffington Post. "He has no cost control. There would be no EFFECTIVE COST CONTROL in his program.

Also I see that the Congressional Budget Office said it's going to be incredibly EXPENSIVE. .

Really, obama’s own physician saying the eleven hundred page and counting plan ( you know the plan that very few of our representatives have read] piecemeal, ineffectual and no cost control.

Sounds like a great plan to me.

If you like the DMV, you'll love socialist health care.

REally clifmal Please do some research and stop embarassing yourself with your talking points picked up from Fox News. Who goes around saying we can't afford schools because they are expensive?? Who goes around stating we cannot afford highways because they are too expensive? And finally who states it is too expensive to pay for health care for our representives? So why is health care too expensive? The rest of the non-poor countries are looking on in amazement as we continue to spend twice as much per capita as any other country, don't cover everyone, and have lousy outcomes.

We all pay for the unisured's care already in the form of inflated premiums passed on to us. This is not about votes it is about quality, affordable health care for all Americans. Illegal aliens cannot vote and legal imigrants are part of our American system.

MKoertje wrote. Even though I try to stay away from Faux news.

May I suggest instead of reading Faux news or the huffington post you should try FOX news for some of your information.

At least if this Heath bill passes we won’t have to worry about those Canadians coming here for care.

One other thing, if we would stop paying for all the people who come here illegally and use our medical care that we the American people pay for, maybe we could all afford healthcare…!!!!

But when the Democratic make then all legal that would eliminate a huge Democratic voting block now wouldn’t it…!!!

Other countries do it and do it very well. I think it would be a great thing for this country, HOWEVER, our governmemt does not show promsie that they can in fact do it correctly. Somehow, someway they'll screw it up and it won't work like we all want it too.

Even though i try to stay away from Faux news, i did read the article. Where does it say Obama is going to cut Medicare? Now Obama has stated that there is waste, that will be removed from Medicare, (like Drs performing unnecessary procedures, like his granma receiving i think a hip or knee transplant when she had less than 6 mo to live with cancer?)

When it comes to cost, this country cannot afford to continue to meet the needs of the ins and health industries pockets and ignore the health needs.

Don’t be fooled by Obama’s 45 Million uninsured.

The worst part is Obama wants to pay for the most of $2000,000,000,000 plan by cutting Medicare for the elderly.

You know that dollar amount is so large I am not sure I even wrote it correctly.

Check this link.

Saving American Lives is not a Democratic

or Republican issue.

It’s an American issue It is falsehood to cast the healthcare debate in terms of socialism vs. capitalism. Debate should be about (a) return for the money, (b) captive vs. free market, (c) illness vs. health as commodity, (d) choice, (e) affordability, etc.from

Mary Koertje Writes

“Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, is still “on the fence”

If Jerry Mcnerney is still on the fence it’s because Nancy Pelosi told Jerry to set on it.

Jerry McNerney votes how ever the San Fran. Liberal, Nancy[ we are losing 500 million jobs a month] Pelosi tells him to.
