EDITOR,

With the seating of Minnesota Democrat Al Franken, the Democrat Party now has a filibuster-proof 60 and total power in Congress. The Democrats will now ram through every “Utopian” dream they ever wanted.

Following a disastrous 100 days of Obama failure after failure, our economy is on life support, and Obama is administering “Kervorkian” solutions. No one will question the cost of cap-and-trade or the junk science supporting this disastrous folly. The Democrats will just rubber-stamp it without even reading the bill.

Republicans are locked out of the new Pelosi system of “openness.” Cap-and-trade is a crushing burden on the economy, which the nation’s workers need for jobs. But it will only kill more jobs as business farms out to foreign nations the work that will be taxed here under cap-and-trade.

Today is my last day employed. My job was replaced by a factory in China. As I look down the street at the “for sale” signs on houses, I can only think it is a fool who would not see that this march to socialism is going to hit all of us, Democrat voters included.

It is more than 8 years. Some of it goes back to the home buying policies set in place when Carter was in office. And the Mortgage Policies that ultimately destroyed the finance industry which were set in place when Clinton was in office.

Point of the letter seems to be that you can't expect the Democrats to not raise our taxes?

Especially when it will further increase the unemployment rate.

You can't expect Obama to fix the last 8 years of mess in one year let alone 6 months. I agree that he may not be going about it right either.

So I say both Republicans and Democrats suck and we need a new party in town.

Very tough to read this letter. It does look as if the current regime is ushering out the American dream. Very sad to see, in today's news, the unemployment rate going up, yet again.

Curious, didn't Jerry McMerney also go along voting for this, Cap and Trade?
