City officials expected the trouble with the pump would keep the pool closed until July 10, but work was done faster than expected.
The pool closed June 30.
The Tracy Warrior soccer team will have a car wash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Save Mart, 875 S. Tracy Blvd. Proceeds will go toward uniforms and travel costs for the local soccer team.

A local chapter of the Widowed Persons Association of California will get together for a monthly luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Four Corners Restaurant, 7505 W. Linne Road. Seats cost $11, and reservations are due today.

Regional transit public hearings
The San Joaquin Regional Transit District will seek public input through a series of meetings about proposed service reductions, which include fewer routes. The meeting in Tracy will begin at 5:30 p.m. July 15 in Room 203 at Tracy City Hall, 333 Civic Plaza. Meetings will also take place in Stockton, Lodi and Manteca.

The Oak Grove Nature Center will host a craft night for kids from 6:30 to 9 p.m. July 16 at the nature center, 4520 W. 8 Mile Road, in Stockton. There is a $3 parking fee, but the workshop is free.

Child safety workshop
A nonprofit children’s advocacy group called Child Quest International will join the San Jose Police Department to present a child safety workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. July 18 at Grace Church, 1330 N. Tracy Blvd. Participants will get a free video about child safety.
