Winters and Turlock’s Wes Miller moved to the front of the pack past leader Jeremy Jackson in Lap 20 of the 75-lap event.
Winters and Miller battled for the lead for the next 24 laps, and when Jackson spun out on Lap 44, it gave Winters his opportunity to take the lead and keep it the rest of the way.
In the NASCAR Whelen All-American Western Late Models, Tracy’s Justin Philpott, now the points leader at Stockton 99, took second place in the first 50-lap race. Jeff and Harry Belletto of Modesto would contend for the lead for most of the race until Mike Beeler of Salida took the lead after Jeff Belletto went in for repairs during a caution on the 42nd lap. After that, Philpott made his move into second place.
Beeler also won the second race of the day, a 49-lapper, with David Philpott, Justin’s father, coming in fifth.
