This week, the league also started its tournaments for the Minor teams, which played their first-round games Tuesday and will continue into next week, with championship games next Monday and Tuesday.
All of Tracy Little League’s tournaments are double-elimination, so teams that were undefeated as of Tuesday in the Major and Junior leagues have a chance to win their championship games today, Thursday and Saturday, with second games possible if the teams coming up through the losers bracket can win the first game in the final round.
In the Junior National division, the D’Backs play for the championship at 5 p.m. today at Montecello School against the winner of Tuesday’s game between the Rockies and the Mets. (Scores were not available as of press time.)
The Junior American A’s will play at 5 p.m. Thursday at Monticello against the winner of Tuesday’s matchup between the Angels and the Rockies.
Saturday’s games at Jefferson School include the Major National Astros at 11 a.m. against the winner of Tuesday’s Phillies vs. D’Backs game. In the Major American division, the Mariners will play at 2 p.m. against the winner of Tuesday’s game between the Rangers and A’s.
All-star tournaments will follow right afterward, with the Junior League playing its first round Saturday at Weston Park in Stockton and the Major League starting Sunday at Hafley School in Manteca.
