The club, founded here in 1921, raised money to support local projects and charities. Guest speaker was San Joaquin Supervisor Leroy Ornellas, who talked about the club’s impact in getting the Into Safe Arms law established in the county. Because of the law, every firehouse is designated as a safe haven for mothers so they can give up their newborns safely instead of abandoning them.
The club meets the first Friday of the month, September through May. It supports many projects, from scholarships to books for veterans, Brighter Christmas, Child Advocacy Center, D.A.R.E., Make a Difference Day, McHenry House Family Shelter, American Cancer Society Relay For Life, Tracy Branch Library, Tracy Interfaith Ministries and many more.
