EDITOR,

I live on Parker Avenue and walk daily in the mornings, as I’m unemployed. I have noticed that for the past three weeks solid, the drinking fountain at Central Elementary School, on the corner of Eaton and Parker avenues, has been spraying water, nonstop.

It appears to be broken, and no one answers the doors, with the school closed for the summer.

This has to be a lot of water going down the drain every minute. Water waste is a big issue, and this school is pouring hundreds of gallons down the drain. Who pays for this waste?

• Editor’s note: Maintenance crews fixed the water fountain this week.
