Wine tasting fundraiser

The Tracy Woman’s Club will have a catered wine-tasting event to raise money for charities and club events.

The tasting is from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at La Bonne Vie Cellars, 29181 S. Lehman Road, in Tracy. DeVinci’s will provide appetizers.

Tickets are $20.

Blood drive

The Delta Blood Bank and the Golden Corral buffet restaurant will host a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday at 2850 W. Grant Line Road.

Wine and cheese festival

Three Tracy wineries will host a wine and cheese festival from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The cost is $15 per person, and the Ramon Rios Winery, the Windmill Ridge Winery and La Bonne Vie Cellars will take part in the festival.

Filipino veterans workshop

Reps. Jerry McNerney, D-Pleasanton, and Dennis Cardoza, D-Atwater, will have a workshop for Filipino veterans of World War II who might be eligible for benefits of up to $15,000.

The workshop will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the Filipino Plaza, 6 W. Main St., in Stockton.

Veterans have until Feb. 16, 2010, to apply for benefits that were denied to some despite their service.

Museum hours change

The San Joaquin County Historical Museum will switch its summer hours.

Starting next week, the museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at Micke Grove Regional Park, 11793 Micke Grove Road in Lodi.

South Side group meets

The South Side Guadalupe Society will have its regular meeting Wednesday at 126 W. First St.

The group will discuss membership drives and dues.

Habitat open house

The public is invited to an open house celebration for the Avalos family, as they accept keys to a home rebuilt by Habitat for Humanity.

The event is at 11 a.m. June 6 at 212 South St.

Food festival

The 17th annual A Taste of Tracy’s Best Food and Wine Event will be from 1 to 4 p.m. June 14 at the Tracy Community Center, 950 East St.

The food festival will have culinary treats from 20 restaurants — a sample of foods from around the globe.

The event is a fundraiser for the Tracy Historical Museum and the Soroptimists of Tracy, and includes entertainment and a live auction in addition to food.

Sorority fundraiser

The Tracy chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority will have a dinner and jazz fundraiser from 6:30 to 10 p.m. June 20 at Windmill Ridge Winery, 8350 W. Linne Road.

A $40 donation is requested, and the money raised will be spent on community service projects and scholarships.
