Twenty-four fastpitch softball teams from around Northern California will be in Tracy this weekend for the All-American Sports Academy tournament at the Tracy Sports Complex and at West High.

Sunday’s tournament includes two 14-and-under, eight-team brackets at the Tracy Sports Complex starting at 9 a.m., with finals at 4:30 p.m. The 12-and-under bracket will play at West High starting at 8 a.m., with finals at 3:30 p.m.

The tourney features teams from around Northern California, including Tracy’s All-American’s 14-and-under team, which qualified for the Amateur Softball Association and USA Softball’s National Championship in Montgomery, Ala., as a 12-and-under team last summer. Also participating is the Tracy Titans’ 12-and-under team, winner of the U.S. Specialty Sports Association’s 2008 Nor Cal State Tournament.

The tournament kicks off the summer season for girls 12-and-under and 14-and-under club teams like All-American, the Titans and Liberty Fastpitch, which travel around Northern California for tournaments.

The season will also include the American Softball Association 10-and-under and 12-and-under Western Region Championships, to be hosted by the city of Tracy this year at the Sports Complex, West High and Veterans Park on July 29 to Aug. 2.
