Graveside services are planned Tuesday for Billy Duane “Bill” Perkins, 78, of Tracy, who died Friday in Modesto.

Born April 10, 1936, in Elizabeth, Ky., Mr. Perkins joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 and served aboard the USS Hancock until 1958. He became a truck driver after leaving the Navy. Most recently, he drove for Tracy Interfaith Ministries. A Tracy resident for 18 years, he was active in Grace Church of Tracy.

Mr. Perkins is survived by his wife, Nga Perkins of Tracy.

Tuesday’s services will begin at 9 a.m. at Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will be observed from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Monday at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave.
