EDITOR,

President Obama does not care about inner-city black children. He plans to end the voucher program in Washington, D.C., that has provided an excellent education at a lower cost than the failing inner-city public schools.

Hundreds of kids will be stuck with no choice other than failing public schools.

Obama is depriving these kids a good education in order to pay off the teachers union for its support during the election. Some of these voucher kids go to the same school his kids attend. This should be a big story. But the press is ignoring it.

The Teachers Union need to be abolished.

Our whole system needs to change. Other countries are passing us up. Their kids are WAY more educated. Kids can handle a lot more than we think. Their brains are like sponges.

Run the schools like a business. A teacher does not do their job, they are fired. We are simply teaching our kids to pass tests so the schoold can get their money. We are not fully educating them for the real world. Re-vamp the whole system. Go off model schools in Europe, who are doing great things. We as a country are so smug and always think we are the best at everything. Wrong, we can learn a few good things from our Allies over seas. A smart person is always learning and adjusting. Our country should do the same.

This story, and the lack of reporting on it, is a perfect illustration of the mass media muzzle on anything anti-Obama.

Search "D.C. Opportunity Scholarship" in Google news and you will see who is reporting the facts and who are ignoring the story.

DC public schools are in a deplorable condition overall, not fit for his own children for sure. But a program that teachers unions oppose will not get Obama's support, nor any support in a Pelosi-Reid controlled Congress.
