Quynh Trosien, 11, finished her tennis season among the top 18 players from Northern California in the under-12 age group.

That gained her a place on the NC Owls team, which placed third at the United States Tennis Association Pacific Zone Team Championships, held July 3 to 7 at the Hilton El Conquistador Golf and Tennis Resort in Tucson, Ariz.

Quynh went 6-4 through the five-day, 16-team tournament as her team went 4-1 and took third place behind the Southern California Cougars and Southern California Jaguars.

Quynh attends Discovery Charter School and is coached by Anya Egorova of Cliff Drysdale Tennis Club at In-Shape, Tracy.
