Tracy police received 1,232 calls for service from May 27 through Wednesday. The following is a sampling of those calls as they were documented in real time.
7:34 a.m.: Police were notified that a private investigator from Orange County would be in the area of Cypress Drive and Mesa Court. He was expected to be there throughout the day.
7:50 a.m.: A caller reported that a man exposing himself to her in a restroom on the 1800 block of 11th Street. She said he was calling out to her, and when she went to see what he was doing, he exposed himself and began laughing while he grabbed himself. Police got a description of the man from a surveillance video.
8:04 a.m.: Police arrested a 39-year-old man on the 500 block of 11th Street on a warrant for making a false emergency report. He was taken to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
8:43 a.m.: A caller reported seeing someone inside a bank on the 600 block of 11th Street who didn’t belong there. The caller said she was going to work when she saw the woman, who she believed was not an employee. Police checked with the business and found that the woman was a new employee.
11:34 a.m.: Police arrested a 29-year-old man for an unknown warrant on the 1700 block of Bessie Avenue.
11:37 a.m.: Police arrested a 17-year-old boy on drug charges on the 2900 block of Lowell Avenue. He was taken to juvenile hall in French Camp.
3:40 p.m.: A caller reported that someone cut the wires to his air conditioner on the 400 block of Hintz Avenue. He said it was the second time it had occurred.
6:21 p.m.: A caller reported that someone stole his catalytic converter on the 1200 block of Dove Drive. He said he was working on the vehicle and had it up on jacks. When he crawled underneath, he noticed that the pipe had been cut. He said the same thing happened Monday.
7:35 p.m.: A caller on the 200 block of Clover Road reported that his car’s sunroof was broken and he found a rock on top of the car.
12:19 a.m.: A caller reported three people wearing black masks banging on his door on the 1700 block of Horse Shoe Loop. The masked people were seen leaving east on bicycles. Police could not find anyone in the area.
7:02 a.m.: When officers tried to make a traffic stop near Holly Drive and Larch Road, the driver of the car ran away from them. The car was returned to its owner.
7:45 a.m.: A woman asked to speak to an officer about an alleged hate crime regarding something written on her vehicle on the 1600 block of Springhill Court.
8:17 a.m.: Police issued a warning to a homeless man who was found sleeping on the roof of a restaurant on the 3500 block of Tracy Boulevard. He was found by an air conditioner repairman.
11:44 a.m.: Police helped as fire officials tried to determine a type of substance that was found in a nearby lake on the 2300 block of Berryassa Court.
11:51 a.m.: A caller on the 800 block of Vallerand Road reported that someone called him and claimed to be an IRS agent. A police officer called the person posing as an agent and told him to stop calling citizens. The officer said the man laughed and said, “Oh really,” before hanging up.
1:20 p.m.: A caller reported a neighbor urinating and defecating outside his house on the 1300 block of Rusher Street. Police talked to the neighbor and a woman said her husband sometimes urinates in the side yard when he drinks. She said she would tell him to stop, because they have working toilets inside the house.
4:35 p.m.: Police warned a man who was using a replica AR-15 to reportedly scare rats off his roof on the Cherry Blossom Lane and Peony Drive.
5:10 p.m.: Police assisted after someone reported a gas leak at Chase Bank, 2620 Tracy Blvd. The building was reportedly evacuated.
7:37 a.m.: A caller reported finding three shopping carts full of wood and paper and a large canister of gasoline near Thoming Park, 1000 Cambridge Place. City workers were called to pick up the items.
10:07 a.m.: Someone reported a homeless man sleeping behind a tire store on 1100 block of Holly Drive who refused to leave. Police issued him a trespassing warning.
11:30 a.m.: A big-rig reportedly hit a fire hydrant near Tracy Toyota, 2895 Naglee Road. Public works crews and fire officials were notified.
1:19 p.m.: A city contractor reported that a resident on the 2900 block of Highgate Lane was harassing him while he trimmed trees in the area. He said the resident was throwing tree branches into his work area from the resident’s backyard after he cut them.
1:48 p.m.: A caller reported a neighbor shooting off a small-caliber handgun at Tracy Garden Apartments, 2900 Tracy Blvd. He said it wasn’t the first time. Police checked and found that he was shooting off bottle rockets on the 2900 block of Sunset Way.
8:25 p.m.: A car reportedly hit the store window at Bagel Street Café, 1875 11th St. Police passed along the message to have code enforcement check the building.
10:42 p.m.: A woman reported that someone moved her lounge chair off of her porch and into the road on the 2800 block of Hawkins Lane. She said she heard the doorbell ring but found no one outside. She requested extra patrols.
1:13 a.m.: Someone in the guard shack at Harbor Rail Services of California, 1399 Chrisman Road, reported that a truck hit something on his property and turned over. He said the people in the truck started arguing with him, and two of them left toward 11th Street. Police are investigating the accident.
5:06 a.m.: Police are investigating the report of a burglary at Radio Shack, 2217 Tracy Blvd. A caller reported seeing people running out from behind the business with items in their hands, and the alarm company reported an alarm from the back door of the business. A police dog searched the building, but no one was reportedly arrested.
9:01 a.m.: A caller said his cat was found covered in oil on the 200 block of Carlton Way.
12:38 p.m.: Police warned a man who was selling tamales and chicken outside Walmart, 3010 Grant Line Road.
2:21 p.m.: A catalytic converter was reported as stolen on the 1600 block of Cherry Blossom Lane.
5:47 p.m.: A resident reported the theft of a hose and reel during a large block party on the 2200 block of Aragon Court.
6:48 p.m.: A woman reported that the father of her child broke her windshield when he punched it during a custody exchange on the 200 block of 11th Street.
7:29 p.m.: Police arrested a 28-year-old man for an unknown warrant near Dolores and Bogetti lanes.
7:55 a.m.: Police are investigating an auto burglary on the 2800 block of Ponte Mira Way. A resident reported seeing someone break his neighbor’s car window and steal items out of the car.
9:35 a.m.: A transient women reported that her purse was stolen while she was sleeping behind a dumpster outside a fast-food restaurant on the 1800 block of West 11th Street.
12:35 p.m.: A resident requested extra police patrols after her house was egged for the fourth time on the 1100 block of Montgomery Lane.
12:54 p.m.: A caller reported a rooster in a yard on the 3200 block of Cathleen Lane.
1:18 p.m.: A woman reported she was harassed by a former friend of her husband at Lincoln Park, 170 Eaton Ave. She said he was touching himself inappropriately outside his clothing and made inappropriate comments. Police said they would talk to him.
4:09 p.m.: A home burglary was reported on the 200 block of West Street.
5:09 p.m.: Police cited a dog owner after reports that the dog was left in a vehicle outside a restaurant on the 2400 block of Naglee Road.
8:43 p.m.: A woman reported that her child was bitten by a dog running loose at Lincoln Park, 170 Eaton Ave. She said the bite did not break the skin, and she did not request medical attention.
8:56 p.m.: A caller reported hearing a loud explosion and electrical wires on fire over Lamb Alley. Firefighters were called to the area, and Pacific Gas & Electric Co. workers were trying to shut off the power to the lines.
3:27 a.m.: A resident told police that he was chasing two men who he saw break into his vehicle on the 2100 block of Lara Lane. He said they were running north. Police stopped one man, but no arrests were reported.
7:48 a.m.: A caller reported that someone shattered his vehicle windshield and stole the catalytic converter on the 2600 block of Baigorry Court.
9:04 a.m.: A resident reported finding a large amount of blood on his vehicle on the 100 block of 12th Street.
10:05 a.m.: A caller reported an ongoing problem with people sleeping behind a real estate office on the 400 block of 11th Street and causing damage.
10:40 a.m.: A woman called police to report that she found two men inside her house on the 400 block of Schulte Road. She said one was wearing a black shirt and jeans and the other was wearing a red shirt and black shorts. Both men bicycled away toward Tracy Boulevard from Mount Oso Road. Police found a red shirt on Mount Diablo Avenue.
2:00 p.m.: Police are investigating a near drowning on the 2400 block of Anita Court. A caller reported pulling a 9-year-old boy out of a pool. He said he performed CPR and the boy was breathing again. He said the boy told him he jumped into the pool even though he didn’t know how to swim.
4:39 p.m.: Police helped the Tracy fire department on the 2500 of Byron Road, where a dryer had caught fire. Fire crews extinguished the fire.
4:58 p.m.: A caller reported that someone removed his new tires and replaced them with old tires, and one of them was slashed, while his vehicle was at the Park and Ride, 2650 Naglee Road.
7:15 p.m.: Police gave a verbal warning to three people who were seen shooting a BB gun in the parking lot of Mission Motel, 330 11th St. The men told officers they didn’t know the city ordinance regarding BB guns.
11:42 p.m.: A man told officials at the Sutter Tracy Community Hospital emergency room that he was assaulted near Central Avenue and Seventh Street. He was in the hospital with a split lip and scratches on his face, but he said he didn’t know who hurt him.
2:58 a.m.: Police helped at the scene of a house fire on the 6500 block of West Grant Line Road.
8:42 a.m.: A resident reported that someone used a stolen garage door opener to access his garage on the 4100 block of Glenhaven Drive.
10:48 a.m.: Police recovered a stolen vehicle from United Rentals using LoJack near Orchard Parkway and Grant Line Road. No arrests were made.
11:04 a.m.: Police arrested a 43-year-old man for an unknown warrant on the 400 block of Ninth Street. He was booked into county jail.
11:19 a.m.: A Kimball High School official reported that a student wrote inappropriate acronyms on school-issued paperwork at 3200 Jaguar Run. Police spoke to the student, and he admitted to writing acronyms such as “SBG,” which he said stood for his friends as “savage boy goons.” He was admonished at length.
2:39 p.m.: A caller reported seeing two trucks causing damage at Patzer Park, 850 Alden Glen Drive.
6:37 p.m.: Slashed tires were reported on the 1400 block of 12th Street.
7:23 p.m.: A resident reported that a neighbor lets her two dogs defecate in the resident’s yard and never cleans up after them on the 200 block of Highland Avenue.
8:08 p.m.: A man reported that his daughter received a fake $100 bill from California Check Cashing Store, 701 11th St., when she cashed a scholarship check. He said the business was notified and refused to do anything. Police are investigating.
11:18 p.m.: Police arrested a 34-year-old man for a drug violation near Thomas Dehaven and Tennis lanes.
