Last week, I was dining in a local restaurant with my dad. A few minutes after the waitress brought our check, she came back and picked it up, telling us that our bill had already been paid.
This is the fourth time this has happened to us in the last year or so. We have no idea who is doing this or why, but we would like to say thank you.
My dad is a World War II veteran, and he usually wears one of his Marine or WWII veteran hats. The first time this happened, a man paying his meal check turned around and took our check from my dad and told him this meal was on him, and thank you for serving.
We have no idea who the other three people are. It’s a very nice thing to do. We are going to do our best to keep this going.
We thank you — whomever you are.
