The Tracy Futbol Club boys under-15 Stealth claimed the Nor Cal Premiere Soccer State Cup in the U15 Gold 2 division on May 10, following a 3-1 win over Napa Valley International in the championship game at Turlock Regional Sports Complex.

Stealth went undefeated through the State Cup Knockout Phase. They outscored opponents 12-2 over four games April 6 and May 3, 4 and 10.

Stealth took the lead in the May 10 championship game on a goal scored by Israel Olivares late in the first half. The Stealth defense held back Napa’s attacks, allowing only six shots on goal — four saved by goalie A.J. Viorato and the other two blocked by defenders Aaron Tavares and Philip Garcia.

Stealth scored two more goals in the second half on shots from Francisco Plasencia and Domingo Villalobos. Napa scored its only goal on a penalty kick late in the second half.

Tracy FC Stealth was formed in November by coaches Josh Clark and Antonio Viorato, whose sons Zach Clark and A.J. Viorato play for Tracy High. Recognizing the talent on the freshman-sophomore teams at Tracy, West and Kimball high schools, they brought the boys together under the TFC director of competitive coaching, Byron Munoz.

The team lost a few games at the upper levels of Nor Cal Premiere Soccer before settling into the Gold 2 bracket for State Cup play, where Stealth opened the Knockout Phase with a 3-1 win over East Bay United Bay Oaks on April 6 and went undefeated through the tournament.

Next up for the team is Tracy Futbol Club’s Orange Bowl this weekend at Tracy Sports Complex and Plasencia Fields, where Stealth will play up in the boys U16 tournament.
