The Tracy Planning Commission approved a project Wednesday to open a nightclub and restaurant in Tracy.

Grant Bar and Lounge, 2706 Pavilion Parkway, will serve food and alcohol daily beginning at 10 a.m. and will transition to an adults-only nightclub starting at 9 p.m.

Owner Dennis Miller told commissioners the club will start live music, disc jockeys, comedy and other shows at 11 p.m. and close by 2 a.m. Grant Bar and Lounge has enough space to entertain 300 people.

Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the project, with the condition that the club have security guards on staff during live performances and other events.

The club plans must now be approved by the City Council.

Nice cool lol, all I see is a place for Tracy's white tweaker's thugs and mexican gangsters gathering around and start trouble. Pimps and drug dealer's will soon be hanging around also, increased drug activity, COCAINE METH AND ALCHOHOL and fights. Bad idea please vote this off the agenda tards unless you want white and mexican tweaker babies being born under these circumstances.

Great! This will give the former city manager somewhere to take his family on his next birthday. Except this time he will be paying the tab, not the citizens of Tracy.

You know what Rosa, the more you rail and comment on stuff that a) doesn't matter and b) is long gone, the more obsessed you sound and the less people take you seriously anytime you DO want to say something meaningful.

So please do us and you a favor and let it go. I'm pretty sure the damage to his life is already done ... you ain't saying nothing now.

I appreciate your view Tracyite4life but happen to believe that attitudes like yours are the reason these types of things continue to happen in Tracy.

I think when we keep in mind the mistakes of the past, we tend not to make them again.

As for Churchill's life being damaged; he did it to himself.

He did do it to himself, Rosa, but he is no longer an issue for the citizens of Tracy. What do you gain by rubbing salt in his wounds? Churchill has a family, and they were not part of this issue. Let's be factual and leave malice and presumptions out.

Thank you Citizen for making clear what it seems I could not. Agreed.

Tracyite4life;

Again, I understand your view but happen to believe that attitudes like yours are the reason these types of things continue to happen in Tracy.

I think when we keep in mind the mistakes of the past, we tend not to make them again.

As for Churchill's life being damaged; he did it to himself.

"adults-only" is that a code word for strip club? Could this be Tracy's first Itchy Kitty establishment?

Unfortunately I do not think that is what this is. Tracy needs an erotic entertainment venue but this just sounds like a run of the mill nightclub.

That will be a wonderful fit with the high density housing the city council approved last year for the open lot across from Winco.
