Gymnastics: Tracy team second at SCVAL competition

Tracy High’s gymnastics team placed second in Santa Clara Valley Athletic League competition Friday at Gilroy High.

Six teams, including Tracy, Kimball and West, were represented at the meet. St. Francis of Mountain View took first with a score of 151.200, and Tracy scored 137.750. They were the only schools to bring full teams.

The top local individual was West freshman Alexis Rezendes, who placed third all-around (37.600), including a first-place mark on the balance beam (9.650). Tracy freshman Erica Pulliam was fifth all-around (37.250) and had first-place scores on the vault (9.250) and uneven bars (9.800).

None of the local teams had full squads for the junior varsity competition, but the top all-round gymnast was Kimball High freshman Rachel Minten (36.050), with first place scores in the vault (9.300) and uneven bars (9.000). Tracy High freshman Emily Vasquez was second (35.750), with a first-place mark on the balance beam (9.300).
