A Mass will be celebrated Wednesday for Emily Santos, 87, a longtime parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, who died Tuesday in Brentwood.

Born Nov. 3, 1926, at the family home on Roberts Island, Mrs. Santos was a resident and active member of the Tracy community for many years. She was a member of IPFES and owned a super modified race car with her husband that was well known in racing circles.

Survivors include a daughter, Lorraine Sarale of Stockton; a sister, Mary Machado of Ripon; a brother, Tony Ferreira, and his wife, Florence, of Brentwood; a grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 40 years, Nelson Santos; her parents, Mariana and Antonio Ferreira; a sister, Gertrude Santos; and a brother, Joe Ferreira.

The Mass will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard’s, 163 W. Eaton Ave., followed by burial in Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Arrangements will be handled by Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., and an online guest book can be viewed at www.frymemorialchapel.com.
