Reader John E. Bang-Knudsen heard an explosion at 3:40 a.m. Sunday at Velasquez Court and Lara Lane, and ran outside to shoot this photo.

Firefighters put out the flames in about 20 minutes, he reported, had the car towed, and cleaned up debris.

Apparently no one was injured.
