A barbershop and salon with a stylish atmosphere, Fabulous Fades Barber and Beauty Salon, is opening Tuesday at 245 E. 11th St.

Business partners Frank Farinha and Tony James are tripling the size of their Ninth Street shop, Fabulous Fades, with the new 14-seat shop adjacent to Little Caesars Pizza.

“We’re expanding — going to be Tracy’s largest salon,” Farinha said. “There are no high-end barbershops in Tracy. We’re offering the complete barber experience, with leather seating, Wi-Fi connections, big screen TV, straight-edge razor shaves and designer haircuts.”

He described Fabulous Fades as “a place to enjoy the environment as you enjoy the haircut.”

The shop’s 20 employees are prepared to serve both men and women of any ethnicity, Farinha said.

Fabulous Fades Barber and Beauty Salon will be open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week, with discounts for students and seniors.

As a special way to show off their new salon, Farinha and James will be offering free haircuts between 1 and 6 p.m. Wednesday.

“We want to get people in there,” Farinha said. “We’re not worried about making money. We want to introduce them to ourselves.”
