Boys golf: Tracy fifth at Yellowjacket Invitational

Tracy High’s golfers placed fifth out of 17 teams at the Yellowjacket Invitational on Monday at Stevinson Ranch Golf Course in Stevinson.

Tracy finished with a team score of 386, the total for the team’s top four golfers, behind Mountain View (349), Ripon (356), Ripon Christian (364) and Escalon (367). Kimball High’s golf team also competed, finishing 12th (394).

The leading local golfer was Tracy High senior Shivam Swamy, who scored 87 on the par-72 course, 14 strokes behind leader Landen Azevedo (73) of Hilmar High and in a four-way tie for eighth place.

Kimball’s leader was junior Reese Maxfield (89), who finished in a five-way tie for 15th place.
