The couple became engaged Oct. 20, 2012, at Mount Wilson during a weekend getaway in Los Angeles. Amin, a former L.A. resident, drove Crystal to an overlook on the mountain, where they looked at the stars and the city lights and talked. He asked her to close her eyes, poured champagne, dropped to his knees and, when she opened her eyes, gave her a ring and asked her to marry him.
The bride-to-be, a 2002 Tracy High School graduate, is a staffing manager at Dameron Hospital in Stockton. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business from California State University, Stanislaus, in 2008.
Crystal is the daughter of Susan and Suresh Raj and sister of Reena Rosales of Manteca. Her maternal grandparents were the late Goldie and Jim Wilson of Redwood City, and her paternal grandparents were the late Deo and Ramadari Raj of Suva, Fiji.
The groom-to-be works for the Oakland Raiders organization. He earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology and communication from University of California, Davis, in 2012.
Amin is the son of Rosa and Amin Hasan of South Gate and the brother of David Cartagena of Sacramento and Lizeth Cartagena of Los Angeles. His maternal grandparents were the late Filomena Romero and Jose Atilio Martinez of San Salvador, and his paternal grandparents were the late Barbara Shackelford and John Westly Shackelford of Detroit.
Crystal’s sister, Reena, will be her matron of honor, and Temica Smith will be maid of honor. Devary Braley and Adrianna Rosales will be bridesmaids.
Amin’s best men will be his brother, David, and John Dunn. Chris Braley and Elvis Quinones will be groomsmen.
