The Clinton administration, with Sara Lister, undersecretary of the Army, mouthing the words, described the Marine Corps as “an extremist organization in checkerboard” uniforms. We accepted that as a compliment.
Now the Obama administration has issued an “advisory to law enforcement agencies” penned by Janet Napolitano, secretary for Homeland Security. The “advisory” warns law enforcement agencies to be suspicious of certain groups of Americans, including combat veterans, because they are radical. Other categories of Americans who hold certain beliefs itemized by Napolitano are also described as extremists and potentially dangerous.
Newcomers to the list of extremists, I bid thee, “Welcome.” There cannot be more than 100 million of us running around America unrestricted.
