Saturday cioppino dinner tickets on sale

Tickets are now on sale for the annual Louie “Gee Gee” Galli Memorial cioppino dinner sponsored by the Tracy Breakfast Lions Club.

The dinner is scheduled Saturday at the Portuguese Hall, 430 W. Ninth St. The evening will begin with a social hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by a 6:30 p.m. dinner featuring crab and other seafood in a rich tomato sauce, mixed salad with Italian dressing and French bread.

Tickets, $45 each, can be purchased from Breakfast Lions members; at Yerian Insurance Agency, 4600 S. Tracy Blvd., Ste. 118; or by calling 832-2002. Proceeds will go to local charities.

History group offers college scholarships

The West Side Pioneer Association is accepting applications for $500 scholarships for two graduating high school seniors — one who will attend a junior college and one headed to a four-year university.

The scholarships are open to Tracy Unified School District students who have been involved in local history, whether by volunteering at the Tracy Historical Museum or by researching a local historical subject.

Applications are available through high school counseling offices and at the museum, 1141 Adam St. The deadline to apply is March 31.
