Mr. Woodward was born Aug. 8, 1951, in San Jose and raised in Tracy, where he met his high school sweetheart and future wife. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and had a 23-year career in the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety. After retiring, he built a home for his family.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Salome Woodward of San Jose; two daughters, Kimberly Woodward Thurman of Lodi and Katherine Woodward of San Francisco; mother, Eleanor Woodward of Tracy; three siblings, Bill Woodward of Stockton, Linda Muniz of Tracy and George Woodward of Sonora; and two grandchildren.
His father, Robert Lee Woodward Sr., preceded him in death.
A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave., followed immediately by graveside services at Tracy Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road.
