Louella ‘Lou’ Barber

Services will be Saturday, Jan. 18, in Georgia for Louella “Lou” (Thomas) Barber, 72, of Canton, Ga., a Tracy High School alumna.

She died Jan. 6 at a Georgia hospital, two weeks after an automobile accident.

Born Sept. 16, 1941, Mrs. Barber grew up in Tracy and graduated from Tracy High in 1959. She moved to San Jose in 1969.

Survivors include three daughters, Jamie Rogers of Canton, Ga., Jody Edholm of Minneapolis, Minn., and Jackie Barber of Canton; a stepdaughter, Kristina Filippini of Salida; a sister, Mary Anastasio of Tracy; and many nieces and nephews.

Her husband of 36 years, James E. Barber, preceded her in death in 2006.

A celebration of her life will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fields Chapel UMC, 1331 Fields Chapel Road, off Georgia Highway 20, in Canton. Brunch at Mrs. Barber’s home will follow immediately after the service.
