Millennium High’s golfers finished fourth out of six teams in the Falcon’s home tournament Thursday at Old River Golf Course.

It was the fifth tournament for the league, with one more on Tuesday at Lockeford Springs Golf Course, hosted by Lodi Academy, before the teams head to the Sac-Joaquin Section Division VI tournament on May 4 at The Reserve in Stockton.

The team from Jim Elliot Christian kept its number-one spot in the league with a team score of 219, led by Matt Stewart’s score of 41 on the par-36 course. Drew Musgrave of Jim Elliot Christian and Michael Ogawa of Brookside Christian each scored 42 to tie for second. Millennium’s top scorers were freshman Kendall Cripe, 50, and sophomore Ryan Soares, 52.

Team scores for the event include: Big Valley Christian 233, Brookside Christian 266, Millennium 267, Wilton Christian 283, and Lodi Academy 345.

Millennium’s other scores for Thursday were: Royal 54, Nolen 55, Kenny Lipich 56, and Chelsea Oswald 66.

Next week’s event in Lockeford will determine which teams and individuals will go to the section tournament. As of Thursday’s match the two teams with the best chance of qualifying for section are Jim Elliot Christian and Big Valley Christian.

The section meet also takes the top six golfers who are not on those teams. Millennium golfers most likely to make that cut are senior Todd Royal, who averages 50.8 strokes per-game, and Cripe, who averages 52.3 strokes per-game. Sophomores Matthew Nolen and Soares are also close to the top six.

#1 matthew Nolen is my brother!!!!!! #2 it is spelled NOLEN emphasis on the E. Anyway if you are American it's with an A. But we are Scottish so it's an E. Please learn to spell peoples names correctly TP. If you don't know call the school. It's extremely agravating because people do it all the time.
