A crew from FieldTurf USA replaced sections of the turf in West High’s Steve Lopez Stadium with the new Wolf Pack logo on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

Tracy Unified School District spokesman Joel Danoy said the end zones were replaced under the FieldTurf warranty, and the district spent an extra $36,877 to put the new logo, designed by West students and staff, at midfield.

The old logo infringed on a copyright held by the Wolf Pack of University of Nevada, Reno. The district must still remove the old Wolf Pack images from a sign in front of the stadium and from the basketball court and scoreboard in Steve Thornton Gymnasium, but has no immediate deadline to do so.
