Mrs. Peterson was born Sept. 18, 1936. She lived in Livermore from 1968 to 1986, worked 25 years as director of payroll and human resources at J.J. MacIntyre Co. in Riverside and then moved to Minnesota to run a fishing resort with her husband, son and daughter-in-law.
She developed Alzheimer’s disease and, after her husband’s death, moved to Tracy in June 2010 to live with her daughter. She was recently diagnosed with lung cancer.
Survivors include a son, John Fitzpatrick, and his wife, Tammy, of Gig Harbor, Wash.; two daughters, Shelly Cunningham, and her husband, Hap, of Tracy and Suzanne Fuentes, and her husband, Dave, of Oroville; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; her sister Bernice Herman and her husband Dave; her sister Dorothy Mobley and her husband Lynn; and her brother Don Jordan.
Her husband of 20 years, Pete Peterson, preceded her in death.
A memorial will be scheduled at a later date.
