Last week’s Remember When mystery photo, above, showed Tracy High School students signing up for activities at the newly opened Teenage Center in 1953. The center, operated by the Tracy District Recreation Commission, was located in the former gymnasium at Tracy High School. Signing up the students near the counter were Karen and Bill Levin, who directed the center.

Today’s Remember When mystery photo, at left, shows a veteran Tracy railroad worker lounging in a new chair. Who was he, and what was the occasion?

The man in the chair is my great grandfather, Antonio Morelos. The occasion is his retirement.
