The traditional Mexican observance remembering deceased relatives and friends will continue for two days at the Guadalupe Center, 126 W. First St.
On the day of Halloween, pre-observance activities, sponsored by the South Side Community Organization, will begin with the building of altars.
On Friday, Nov. 1 — the Day of the Dead — viewing the altars will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the serving of refreshments at 3 p.m., then blessing of the altars at 5:30 p.m. and performances by Bailey Poole and Ballet Folklorico Nuestra Herencia.
The Day of the Dead observance continues at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, with viewing of the altars, serving of refreshments at 1:30 p.m., an Aztec blessing of the altars and a presentation by Annamaria Argumedo.
