Melissa Chantel Huckaby, 28, was arrested on April 10 by Tracy police on suspicion of kidnapping, raping and murdering 8-year-old Tracy girl Sandra Cantu.
On Friday, three of Huckaby’s friends – none of whom knew each other – said she told them that a policeman raped her when she was 18, just out of high school.
Bruce confirmed that there was a report and an investigation, but provided no details and referred all calls to Tracy police.
Tracy police spokesman Sgt. Tony Sheneman said he can’t comment on an report involving Huckaby because it’s now part of an ongoing investigation.
Huckaby was arraigned on Tuesday, but entered no pleas. As charged, she could face the death penalty or life in prison without parole.

Are you F%$#ing kidding me.....why in the hell would you think it is any of the publics business how the crimes were committed on this baby. That is solely for the judge and jury to hear. The only thing the public needs to know is if she is found guilty or not.
And why would you even want to know the details....that's just twisted!!!! If this child was yours would you want to hear over and over again what she went through every time you turn on your T.V. The media has a cold way of smutting everything up and I think they should have laws against that!!!!!
The public has a right to know that there is a predetor out there for those parents that don't have as tight of a rein on their children as they should but when it is already going to trial that's where it should end until the trial is over!!!!
Siobhann1013,
Very well said......I completely agree that this bitch is only out for herself.
shelly13,
If she was raped or not has no baring on what she has done to this child and her family. Everyone knows there are cops who do not live an honest life. They're human, not perfect and I strongly believe he should've paid for what he did "if" he did it but she seems to me to be an attention getter. It took me many years to admitt and even remember some of the horrible things that happened to me as a child, most woman don't want to talk about it....she seemed to be putting her business out there to anyone who would listen. And it's funny how these things come out when her life is on the line. How do we know her lawyer didn't go fishing for people to speak on her behalf to the media. Wouldn't her family have known and tried to help her help herself. They said all over the news how much they love her and how this is totally out of character for her. She's a phony and a child killing child molester whatever her reasons were for doing what she did and I hope she gets her fair trial just so there's no way of her ever leaving prison alive when they find her guilty!!!!
I beleive she is guilty if the Cantu murder and that her alleged rape is NO excuse. There is no excuse or defense in the world that she can use that will convince me otherwise. She has been found to be a liar, yes. I think she is a monster, yes. But my gut is telling me she may have been telling her friends the truth on that one. Though he was cleared, there are some cops who take advantage of their authority and might prey on girls with low self esteem and other issues as MH obviously had. I wonder if it was fully investigated, DNA and all.
Though most people in positions of authority are good, there are a few rotten apples. I am not defending her in any way, but I have a sinking suspicion there is more to that story.
However, the true victims are Sandra and her family - Bless them.
It's hard for people (ladywarrior) to believe a woman, a mother is capable of such things and while we dont know all the facts and have not seen all the evidence, I'm sure LE has the right person behind bars, so please stop judging by the looks, it's not common but sadly there are sick individuals like Melissa who are capable of commiting such nonsene crimes.
TEXASCANTU: Just wanted to let you know I'm very sorry your family had to go through this, Sandra was a gorgeous girl, full of live, we'll always remember her and justice we'll be served.
RIP Sandra Cantu
Very young children cry just like that when they get caught for doing something wrong. They aren't remorseful, just scared of the consequences.
She may not have been crying for anyone but herself.
Just a thought.
I agree that there are many reasons for crying. I would add that crying is sometimes used as a manipulative ploy. Crying is sometimes used to appear to be less threatening. Crying occurs often when a person is in pain. I am sure that people who experience pain cry. I am sure that Sandra cried, when she was murdered.
As for the true purpose for or cause of MH's tears, only she knows the answer to that, I suppose.
I will share that a trademark characteristic of a sociopath is the use of emotion, frailty, and charm to endear victims, manipulate others, and fool authorities.
I like what TooMuchAnger said about crying.
I am in no way a sympathizer for a child killer but MH has to be tried in court. I realized that everyone has to vent and if this is the new way, well vent on. It may be healthy for all I know. It is way more then Tracy, CA has ever had to deal with. I'm also not sure whether I believe the cop left the little girl with beer breath mother. Oh, that's another article. To many to sort thru.
