Members of the Tracy Rotary Club went for a hay ride Tuesday, Aug. 20, through the Mount Oso Vineyard south of Tracy.
Jeff Brown, general manager of the family-owned vineyard off Bird Road, narrated the tour, while friend Mike Petz drove the pickup that pulled the wagon.
Brown said harvesting of grapes in the 700-acre vineyard started two weeks early this year, with chardonnay and pinot grigio grapes initiating the crush. All the harvesting is by machine, mostly at night, Brown said.
Members of the Tracy Sunrise Rotary Club had the same tour Wednesday morning.
Earlier, Tracy residents toured three local wineries Saturday, Aug. 17, during the sixth annual Wine and Music Festival.
La Bonne Vie Cellars, on Lehman Road, and Windmill Ridge and Ramon Rios wineries, both on Linne Road, took part in the tours, which featured wine, food and music.
