A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, Aug. 21 for Gilbert Mendoza, 80, of Tracy, who died Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Emeritus at Heritage Place in Tracy.

Mr. Mendoza was born June 13, 1933, in Jalisco, Mexico. He was a resident of Tracy for 48 years and a parishioner of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include four children, Ruben Mendoza and his wife, Lorraine, Rita Mendoza-Bogetti and her husband, Vince, Kathy Mendoza-Bennett and her husband, Marc, and Richard Mendoza, all of Diablo Grande; a brother, Sam Mendoza and his wife, Leonila, of San Diego; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were a son, Gilbert Mendoza Jr., and a brother, Chema Mendoza.

The Mass on Wednesday will begin at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, 163 W. Eaton Ave. Burial will follow the service at Tracy Public Cemetery, 501 E. Schulte Road. Visitation will not be observed.

Contributions in Mr. Mendoza’s name may be sent to Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA 95204.
