A man who fled to Washington state after Tracy police issued a warrant for his arrest for crimes involving a 14-year-old child, is now in San Joaquin County Jail.

A spokesperson for the Tracy Police Department said 29-year old Lakhvinder Singh Dhanju faces 14 felony charges, which include lewd acts upon a child, meeting with a minor to engage in lewd acts, and contact with a minor for sexual offense.

The investigation, begun April 19, resulted in a warrant for Dhanju's arrest. When police attempted to execute the warrant they discovered Dhanju fled Tracy.

Tracy police coordinated with the Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the U.S. Marshall’s Service, and the Seattle Police Department to find Dhanju. Seattle police officers arrested him July 11 and Dhanju was extradited back to San Joaquin County August 6.

If only Department of Homeland Security,ICE, and the Marshall's service worked this hard for criminals to flee to Mexico.

Thank god this criminal chose a stupid escape route. Good job US Marshall's, they actually always seem to catch their bad guy.
