A west Tracy gas station was allegedly robbed by a man with a handgun during the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 11.

The robbery was reported by a clerk at am/pm, 2430 Joe Pombo Parkway, at 1:55 a.m.

According to the clerk, a Hispanic male about 6 feet tall entered the store with a silver handgun, ordered the clerk onto the ground and took all the cash from the register.

He reportedly had a dark-colored wrap around his face and head and was wearing a black baseball hat with white lettering. The man was also wearing white and black gloves, black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt with a white T-shirt underneath, according to the log.

Customers were at the gas pumps during the robbery, but only the clerk was inside the store, the log states.

Police are still investigating and a report is expected to be filed.

According to stats:

2.3 million people are in prison

35.4 are black

32.9 are white

20.4 are Hispanic

Whites and blacks are neck to neck, with hispanics coming up from behind. Crime is crime, no matter the color.

You are right, crime is crime no matter the color, but your numbers are meaningless. Unless you put them in the context of percentage of total population they may as well be talking about hair color.

I suspect those are in percentage of total population. He/she just failed to the in the "%" signs. They add up to approximately 89, leaving 11% for the Arabs, Asians and the like.

percentage of total population of this country, or percentage of the prison population?

Like the saying goes:

There are mathematical facts. There are mathematical hypothesis, and then there are statistics.

Embrace locking the doors after 10pm. Tracy has become New Stockton. Starting to hear gun shots every week end!
