Local softball teams all boast league MVPs

The softball teams from Tracy, West, Millennium and Kimball highs all boasted their leagues’ most valuable players for 2013.

Junior Ellie Fisher, of the San Joaquin Athletic Association champion Tracy High Bulldogs, is the league MVP. Fisher batted .559 and stole 50 bases in 53 attempts.

Tayler Misfeldt, also a Tracy High junior, is the SJAA’s most valuable pitcher. She had a 22-5 record and a 1.45 earned run average and struck out 192 batters over 164 innings.

Senior first baseman Angela Mariani is the SJAA’s most valuable defensive player.

West High senior Ciara Ervin is the Tri-City Athletic League MVP. Ervin led the league champion Wolf Pack with 29 runs batted-in and batted .506.

Freshman Janae Sims is the TCAL’s most valuable pitcher, going 12-3 with a 2.00 ERA and 88 strikeouts over 98 innings.

Millennium senior Breana Reyes, who led her team to a CCAA title and the Sac-Joaquin Section Division VII championship, is the Central California Athletic Alliance MVP. She batted .410 with 25 base hits, including four home runs.

Kimball senior Ariana Hawkins shared Valley Oak League MVP honors with Sierra High junior Allie Walljasper. Hawkins batted .584 with 52 base hits, 44 RBIs and a slugging percentage of .876.
