Earl D. Hall, a longtime Tracy resident and Southern Pacific retiree, died May 24 at his home in Meadow Vista. According to his family, he had not been ill and his death was unexpected. No services are planned.

Mr. Hall, 77, was born April 3, 1936, in Locke, Ark. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1955, and served in the U. S. Army in the late 1950s and early 1960s.

He moved from Tracy to Meadow Vista in 1972.

Mr. Hall worked 45 years for Southern Pacific Railroad before retiring in 2000.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, DuEtta Hall of Meadow Vista; two daughters, Monique Abt, and her husband, Alan, of Auburn and Monica Hall, and her husband, Michael Waak, of Roseville; three sisters, Viola Tillery of Stockton, Dovie Brecken of Tracy and Reba Thorson of Weimar; a brother, Carl Hall of Folsom; and two grandsons.

Preceding him in death were four siblings, Pearl Jackson, Clarence Hall, Leo Hall and Rufus Hall.
