The city of Tracy has extended the deadline for applications to fill a vacancy on the Transportation Advisory Commission.

Residents have until 6 p.m. May 23 to submit their paperwork for a seat on the nine-member commission, according to a press release from the city manager’s office on Thursday, May 9.

The advisory group provides community perspective and gives input on public transportation planning, facilities and programs to the city council.

Commission members are appointed by the city council and serve a four-year term.

Applicants should have a background in public transportation areas such as airports, buses, rail or bicycle, the release states.

The Transportation Advisory Commission meets at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month at the Tracy Transit Center, room 103.

Commission members are paid $50 for each meeting and cannot exceed $100 a month.

The position is open only to people living in the Tracy city limits.
