Katie is a spayed wire-haired terrier who is 3 or 4 years old. She is a very loving dog who will stay in your lap for hours. Her ideal home does not have cats, as she chases them. She plays well with most other dogs but would do best in a single-dog home with a retired person or couple who can be with her a lot. Her hair doesn’t shed, although she will need an occasional brushing to look her best. National Pet Adoption weekend is Friday, May 3, to Sunday, May 5, and PetSmart Charities is teaming with Animal Rescue of Tracy by donating $35 for every adoption that takes place at PetSmart on Naglee Road. Animal Rescue of Tracy is a nonprofit, all-volunteer rescue group that has pet adoption fairs for dogs and cats from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and noon to 4 p.m. Sundays in the Macy’s wing of the West Valley Mall, 3200 Naglee Road. Members will also make arrangements to show animals in rescue during the week. For information: 642-4324 or
