The win puts the Bulldogs at 2-1 in San Joaquin Athletic Association dual meets. Lincoln won the girls division, dropping Tracy High’s girls to 1-2 in league.
Varsity boys: Tracy 100, Lincoln 83
Leading the way for Tracy was senior James Thompson, with individual wins in the 500-yard freestyle (4 minutes, 56.86 seconds) and 100 backstroke (1:03.88).
Thompson led the first-place 200 medley relay team, which includes seniors Miguel Munoz and Ian Hutton and freshman Nathan Hu (1:54.69). He also paced the first-place 400 freestyle relay team, which includes Hutton, Hu and freshman Spencer Bishop (3:36.17).
All those times qualify Thompson and the relay teams for the Sac-Joaquin Section meet May 9 to 11 at Tokay High in Lodi.
Hutton also won the 50 freestyle (24.49) and 100 freestyle (53.52); Hu won the 200 freestyle (1:58.52) and 200 individual medley (2:18.18); freshman Preston Tsang won the 100 breaststroke (1:13.70); and senior Chris Sonderman won the diving competition (157.3)
Varsity girls: Lincoln 128, Tracy 57
Tracy junior Kylie Taylor won two events, including the 200-yard freestyle (2:09.93) and 500 freestyle (6:00.35).
Lincoln won all the other individual events and both relays.
Kimball at Sierra
Sierra High’s swimmers outscored Kimball in both varsity divisions on Tuesday, April 9, at Sierra High in Manteca. It puts the Jaguar girls at 3-2 in the Valley Oak League, and the boys at 2-3 in the VOL.
The Jaguars still turned in performances that will qualify them for the Sac-Joaquin Section meet at Tokay High in Lodi, May 9 to 11.
Varsity girls: Sierra 99, Kimball 70
Senior Michaela Loomis took first in both of her individual events, the 200-yard individual medley (2:23.00) and 100 breaststroke (1:12.44). Both times qualify her for the section meet.
Also taking first with section-qualifying times were Kimball’s 200 medley relay team of Loomis and seniors Sydnie Black, Courtney Andres and Faby Perez (2:09.00), and Kimball’s 200 freestyle relay team of Perez, Loomis and sophomores Jordyn Luna and Tori Gomez (1:56.47).
Black’s individual events included a win in the 50 freestyle (27.93) and second place in the 500 freestyle (6:19.09).
Varsity boys: Sierra 94, Kimball 76
Kimball’s 200 free relay team of sophomores Brandon Nusser, Derek Dunford and Seth Suzuki and freshman Logan Steinberger placed first (1:44.06), as did the 400 freestyle relay team of Suzuki, juniors Josh Wagstaff and Justin Riccobono and sophomore Alec Fairfield (3:47.57).
Wagstaff also won both the 50 freestyle (24.75) and 100 freestyle (55.32), and Suzuki won the 100 butterfly (58.59).
