The original schedule had 85 teams in five divisions, including 31 sophomore teams in a round-robin tournament.
The reshuffled schedule has 52 teams in four divisions, with the sophomore tournament called off to accommodate all of the varsity teams.
It’s the 10th year of the tournament that was founded by former West High softball coach Charlie Pikas, now the softball coach at Pacheco High in Los Banos, and Tracy High coach Greg Smith.
At the tournament’s inception in 2004, West and Tracy hosted 16 teams.
This year, the Tracy, Kimball and West teams are all in the 16-team platinum bracket.
All those games are at the Tracy Sports Complex, 955 Crossroads Drive.
Friday’s first round — restructured because of wet weather Thursday — includes matchups of Tracy vs. Pacheco at 8:30 a.m., Kimball vs. Hughson at 10 a.m. and West vs. Orestimba at 4 p.m.
The championship game is at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
The 14-team gold bracket plays its first two rounds at Kimball High, 3200 Jaguar Run, on Friday. Semifinals and finals are at the Tracy Sports Complex on Saturday, with the championship game at 1 p.m.
The 14-team silver bracket, which includes Tracy’s Millennium High, plays at Kimball High; West High, 1775 W. Lowell Ave.; and Veterans Park, 238 Glenhaven Drive. The semifinals and finals will be at the Tracy Sports Complex, with the championship game scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday.
The Falcons get a bye for the first round and will play either Johansen or Hilmar at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Kimball High.
The eight-team diamond division will play a round-robin format with games at West High on Friday and Saturday.
