Services were Thursday, March 28, in Sacramento for Kathleen Elizabeth “Katie” Navarra, 31, a native of Tracy who was a deputy district attorney for Sacramento County.

She died March 22 at home in Sacramento after a six-year battle against colorectal cancer.

Miss Navarra was born Sept. 26, 1981, in Tracy to Pete and Leslie Towns Navarra and grew up in Sacramento, where she graduated from Rio Americano High School in 1999.

She graduated from University of California, San Diego, in 2003 and earned a law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2006.

Following graduation from law school, Miss Navarra became a deputy district attorney for Sacramento County.

She is survived by her parents, Pete and Leslie Navarra of Sacramento; two brothers, Andrew and John “Jack” Navarra, both of San Francisco; a sister, Margaret “Meg” Kreulen of Auburn; and her grandparents and many family members, including those in Tracy.

Thursday’s services were held at Trinity Cathedral in Sacramento.

The family prefers memorial contributions in Miss Navarra’s name to the UC Davis Cancer Center, 2279 45th St., Sacramento, CA 95814.
