San Francisco Giants fans lined up as early as 8:30 a.m. to wait for their turn to see the 2010 and 2012 World Series trophies during a viewing at Tracy City Hall on Wednesday, March 20.

The championship trophies are scheduled to arrive at 333 Civic Center Drive at 3 p.m., and city dignitaries will have a special viewing at 3:30 p.m.

Public viewing of the trophies runs from 4 to 6 p.m.

In anticipation of large crowds, the city has blocked off East Street and Civic Center Drive between 11th and Ninth streets.

Fans began lining up early this morning to get their chance to see the trophies.

Ruben Holmes, a 45-year-old resident of Mountain House, took the day off so he could be first in line to see his team’s championship hardware.

“It’s a little bit of history with both trophies being here, I’m excited—rain or shine I would be here,” said the self-described lifelong Giants fan. “Every day I wear San Francisco Giants gear, even if it’s just socks.”

Joining Holmes at the front of the line was Art Dunham, 42, of Tracy.

Dunham grew up in San Francisco and didn’t know if he would ever get to see his team’s World Series trophies.

“I love it — been a fan my whole life, but never seen the trophies before. Could never get to them,” Dunham said. “It’s very special. I’m going to take a picture and send it to all my friends in San Francisco and make them jealous.”

Ropes are set up for fans to wait in line as they wait to enter City Hall, and downtown parking is expected to be a scarce commodity this afternoon.

Anyone with business at City Hall can park for a few minutes, but must then leave the parking lot.

I am offended by this article. I find this story to be thoroughly disgusting and especially to those of us who love America. Shame on you Tracy Press for this filth, and you can cancel my free subscription immediately.

Should I mention that I’m a Dodger fan?
